Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Nimble App Development LLC ("Nimble App Development," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent mobile app development studio. This Privacy Policy explains what information, if any, is collected through this website (nimbleappdevelopment.com and its pages) and through the mobile apps we publish, currently Spellbound Isles. If we publish additional apps in the future, this policy will be updated to cover them, or a dedicated policy will be linked from each app's store listing.

2. Information collected by this website

This website is a static, informational site. It does not use cookies, does not run third-party analytics or advertising scripts, and does not have user accounts, comment sections, or forms that collect personal information. If you email us using the address on our Support page, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that email (such as your email address and message contents), which we use only to respond to you.

3. Information collected by our apps

Spellbound Isles does not collect any personal information. Specifically, the app:

• Does not require you to create an account or sign in
• Does not ask for your name, email address, birthdate, or other contact information
• Does not connect to the internet or transmit any data to us or to any server we operate
• Does not use cookies, device advertising identifiers, or analytics SDKs
• Does not access your contacts, photos, location, or camera
• Does not include chat, social features, or any way to communicate with other users

The only information the app handles is the information described in the next section, which stays on your device.

4. On-device data & local storage

To let the app remember your progress between sessions, Spellbound Isles stores a small amount of data locally on your device using standard app storage (not a server we control). This includes:

• Up to four local player profiles, identified only by a display name and avatar color you choose — no verification of identity or real-world information is required or requested
• Spelling progress, completed word lists, and earned badges or cosmetic rewards for each profile
• App preferences, such as sound, theme, voice, and input mode settings

This information never leaves your device. We have no server that receives it, no database that stores it, and no way to see it. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, this data is deleted.

5. App permissions

Spellbound Isles requests the following permissions on Android in order to play word-pronunciation audio reliably, including while a device's media controls are in use:

• RECORD_AUDIO and MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS — required by the app's audio-playback engine to manage the device's audio session (for example, so word pronunciation plays correctly alongside other audio). The app does not include a microphone or voice-recording feature, and does not access, record, process, or transmit any microphone input.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK — used to keep word-pronunciation audio playing smoothly while the app is in use.

On iOS, the app does not request any privacy-sensitive permissions (such as microphone, camera, contacts, or location access).

6. OS-level crash & diagnostic reports

Apple and Google's operating systems include an optional, user-controlled setting that shares basic crash and diagnostic data directly with app developers when an app crashes — iOS calls this "Share With App Developers" (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), and Android calls it "Usage & diagnostics." If you have this setting turned on, Apple or Google may collect that information from your device and make an aggregated, anonymized crash report available to us through App Store Connect or the Google Play Console when Spellbound Isles crashes.

This collection is performed by Apple or Google directly, under their own privacy policies — not by any code inside Spellbound Isles. The app does not include a crash-reporting or analytics SDK of its own (see Section 8), and we cannot access more than the aggregated report the platform provides. This setting lives at the device level, applies to every app you use, and can be reviewed or turned off at any time in your device's system settings without affecting how Spellbound Isles works.

7. Children's privacy & COPPA

Spellbound Isles is designed for elementary-age learners and may be used by children under 13. We built the app to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design, rather than by collecting and then protecting children's data: the app simply does not collect personal information from any user, child or adult, and has no mechanism to do so. There is no account creation, no chat or social features, no advertising, and no way for a child's information to be transmitted to us or to any third party.

Because no personal information is collected, there is no data for a parent or guardian to review, correct, or request deletion of from us. Any information stored locally (see Section 4) can be removed at any time by deleting the relevant profile within the app, or by uninstalling the app.

8. Third parties, ads & analytics

Spellbound Isles does not include third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or any other third-party code that collects or transmits data. The app does not share data with third parties because it does not collect or transmit any data in the first place. (Section 6 covers the separate, OS-level crash reporting that Apple and Google may perform independently of the app.)

9. In-app purchases

Spellbound Isles does not include in-app purchases, subscriptions, or any way to spend real money within the app. In-game rewards (such as badges or cosmetic items) are earned through gameplay only.

10. Data security

Because the app's data stays on your device rather than being transmitted to us, its security depends primarily on your device's own security (such as a passcode or biometric lock). We follow standard secure development practices when building the app, and we do not operate any server-side systems that store user data for Spellbound Isles.

11. Your choices & how to delete data

You are always in control of the data stored on your device:

• Delete a profile: remove a player profile from within the app to erase its progress, stats, and settings.
• Delete everything: uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data associated with it.
• Reset device backups: if your device backs up app data to iCloud or a Google account as part of your operating system's normal backup behavior, removing the app's data from that backup is managed through your device's own backup settings, not through the app.

12. App Store & Google Play disclosures

This section summarizes how our data practices map to the disclosures required by Apple's App Store and Google Play.

Apple App Store — "App Privacy" details

Consistent with the practices described above, Spellbound Isles is listed on the App Store as not collecting any data. We do not link data to your identity or use it for tracking, because we do not collect data at all. This is unaffected by the optional, OS-level crash reporting described in Section 6 — Apple's App Privacy guidelines exclude data collected through Apple's own built-in analytics system from a developer's data-collection disclosure, since Apple collects and shares that data directly rather than the app doing so.

Google Play — Data safety section

Consistent with the practices described above, Spellbound Isles' Data safety section on Google Play discloses that the app does not collect or share user data, does not use data encrypted in transit (because no data is transmitted), and has no data deletion request mechanism beyond the on-device options described in Section 11, since no data is sent to us to delete. As with Apple's platform, Android's own OS-level diagnostics sharing (Section 6) is a platform feature, not data collected by the app, and does not change this disclosure.

Designed for families / age-appropriate design

We designed Spellbound Isles with young learners in mind: no ads, no third-party SDKs, no external links out of the app, no social or chat features, and no way to make purchases. If store policies for children's or family-friendly apps change, we will update our apps and this policy to remain compliant.

13. International users

Because Spellbound Isles does not collect or transmit personal data, there is no cross-border data transfer to disclose. If you are located outside the United States and have questions about how this applies to regulations in your region (such as the GDPR in the European Union or the UK GDPR), please contact us and we will be glad to help.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our apps evolve — for example, if we introduce a new feature that changes what data is collected. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change within the app itself. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
